Description

Class Experience

This class is part 6 of 9 of a full Algebra curriculum.  The course is separated by unit to allow more flexibility.

In this unit, students will:
Days 1-2:  explore the characteristics and graph exponential functions
Days 3-4:  explore the characteristics and graph piecewise functions including the absolute value function
Days 5-6:  explore how functions transform around the parent function using the absolute value function.

Students will be provided homework, but it is optional.  Homework provided should take no more than 20-30 minutes.

At the end of each week, students will be given a short concept quiz which can be reassessed each week to show full understanding.  Grading will be provided on a mastery scale per skill.  This unit will have 4 skills which in turn will have 3 grades (Developing, Proficient, Mastery)

1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
