Class Experience

US Grade 8 - 10
This will be an Algebra class for high school students. We will be focusing on important topics such as expressions/functions, exponents/logarithms, linear/quadratic equations, factorization, etc.
At the beginning of each class, I will introduce a new concept, followed with examples. Then the class will engage in some discussions.

Objectives of this class include:

Determining properties of different functions.
Solving linear/quadratic equations.
Applying factorization rules to simplify expressions.
Determining inverse processes/functions using exponents and logarithms.
Findng roots and intercepts of quadratic functions/equations.

Weekly homework will be assigned using free online learning resources such as Khan Academy or IXL, or worksheets provided by the instructor. Progress on Khan Academy and IXL can be tracked online, while worksheets are to be submitted via photo/pdf/doc.

One-on-one tutoring is available outside of class upon request.

Here is a weekly breakdown of the topics covered:

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am Dr. Wang! I have a Ph.D. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from a top school in the United States. I have 10+ years of experience teaching classes to college students and high school students. I enjoy teaching STEM subjects to students of all ages. I especially focus on two subjects: Math and Physics. Class topics range from AP Physics C and Calculus BC to Honor Physics and Algebra. I teach with a lot of visual cues and graphing examples because I think those are always extremely helpful for students to understand different concepts. I am a super soccer fan. Nice to meet you all!
