This ongoing course will cover the full year of college prep, Common Core Algebra 2. Students completing the entire course will be ready to move onto Functions, Trigonometry or Pre-Calculus. This is a teacher lead, interactive class; I will present the lesson and we will practice together. My goal is to build a classroom community where students are comfortable asking questions and commenting as I believe this drives the learning for the whole cohort. Each lesson will include a presentation of the topics being covered and time for the students to practice together/independantly on the content. I work to be readily available to all of my student's questions/concerns during and outside of our scheduled classtime. Students interested in enrolling in this class should have completed a full Algebra 1 course and be proficient with the content. The topics covered: Quadratic functions and factoring - we will focus on solving quadratic equations by graphing and factoring, using square roots and completing the square. Polynomials and polynomial functions -The first part of this topic we will focus on polynomials; properties, graphs and computation. - The second half of this unit will focus on applying, Algebraic theorems and analyzing graphs. Rational exponents and radical functions Exponential and logarithmic functions Rational functions Data analysis and statistics Sequences and series Quadratic relations and conic sections Trigonometric ratios and functions Trigonometric graphs, identities and equations Cadence of class is unique to each cohort.
