In this course, students will finish Algebra 1 with Statistics, the final chapter.
Class experience
US Grade 7 - 10
This course is designed to provide a coverage of the different concepts of Statistics. Students will analyze contextual situations, but in this unit, they focus on single variable data and then bivariate data. Students will apply previous mathematical experiences from Algebra 1 to make predictions and judgments based on data. Every class will follow a similar outline. We will start with a brief warm-up. Students will determine which measure of center best describes data. Represent data using different graphs and analyze their shapes. Summarize Data in two way frequency tables Describe the effects linear transformations have on measures of center and spread.

Homework Offered
There will be homework at the end of most classes and it will be due before the start of the next class. The purpose of the homework is to review the skills that were taught in class. They should post their answers in the learner section for feedback and review.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Two assessments will be given. One will be at the halfway point and the other at the end.Grades Offered
All notes will be provided by the teacher at the end of class as well as homework. Students will need access to a printer, a scientific calculator (to be used in some classes, but not all), and scratch paper to work problems out. If students do not have a scientific calculator, they can use the site desmos.com/scientific.
Parents, please note that this is the final chapter from the first 3 Algebra 1 comprehensive course. The class is fast paced and there will be homework regularly.
