Class Experience
Course Description: There will be NO live meetings for this class. The material will be posted weekly in Module Format and you can view it during the week at your convenience. Each week for 6 weeks students will be guided through a variety of polynomial math concepts with videos that I have chosen, along with slide-show notes, flash cards, activities, assignments and exit quizzes. Students should use a white board, paper and pencil or a tablet to take notes while watching the videos. Time will be given during note taking to complete practice problems. Homework will consist of responding to questions posted, by me, in our Outschool Classroom page, as well as at least 20 practice problems that must be completed by the due dats. Also students are required to comment on at least one other person's post weekly. Week 1 - Classifying Polynomials, Adding, Subtracting and Multiplying and Factoring Polynomials Week 2 - Multiplying Binomials and Multiplying Special Case Polynomials Week 3 - Factoring x^2 + bx + c, begin Webquest activity Week 4 - Factoring ax^2 + bx + c Week 5 - Factoring by Grouping Week 6 - Unit 8 Polynomials and Factoring REVIEW, and TEST A discussion question will be posted in the classroom each week as well. Interaction with other students is required. Each student will be required to interact with at least one other person each week. I will also be participating in the weekly classroom discussions by answering posted questions or group discussions. In addition to homework problems, an interactive quick quiz will be given each week students will be asked to turn in for grading and feedback.
Learning Goals
Students will improve their understanding of polynomials which are algebraic expressions that contain of number of terms. .

I am a highly qualified mathematics and chemistry teacher. I taught 10 years in the middle school and 10 years at the high school. I love teaching and believe in innovative ways to keep students motivated and engaged.
I graduated from Grand Valley State University with a Major in Mathematics and Minor in Chemistry. I also, have a Masters Degree in Middle Level Education and a Specialist Degree in Central Office Curriculum. I worked hard to get these degrees since I did not attend college until after my children were raised. I have 1 son and 3 daughters (1 of which is deceased). They are all adults now and they have given me 3 grand daughters.
