1-2 hours per week. Homework is assigned every week in either the form of a PDF worksheet, Delta Math, Quizizz, or a Khan Academy assignment. If the homework is in PDF form, learners can submit it to me as an attachment through messages in the form of an image, scan, PDF, or DOC.Assessment
To receive a letter grade or a letter of completion, learners are required to complete all assignments and take a cumulative course review test.Grading

US Grade 7 - 10
In this self-paced course, students will learn High School Algebra 1. Pre-recorded lessons created & provided by me and my team will be posted on the classroom page for each lesson. Video lessons will cover various topics, and students will be expected to take notes. Homework will also be assigned weekly through the classroom page and will consist of worksheets and/or working on Khan Academy, Quizizz, and Delta Math. Additional videos can be requested. Extra worksheets, and guides will also be provided on the classroom page for learners to have additional resources if needed. The initial course will cover topic 1 of Algebra 1- the real number system, solving equations and inequalities. Students will also learn how to use technology tools such as scientific calculators and online resources to enhance their learning. By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in solving equations and be well-prepared for further study in mathematics. Weekly check-ins and homework submission are required, with students able to send in their work as an image, scan, or PDF. Homework, quizzes and unit tests will also be issued through Khan Academy, Quizizz and Delta Math, and a final test reviewing the entire course will be administered on paper (PDF). This class does not meet live and for self-paced classes communication is key. Please communicate with me if you need additional resources, extra help, etc. The great thing about self-paced classes is they can be customized, shortened, or extended if need be. Prior knowledge of Pre-Algebra is highly recommended, and outside practice with assigned assignments is encouraged for a better understanding of the material. Struggling students can request live one-on-one for an additional cost.
Learning Goals
Develop a foundational understanding of Algebraic concepts and principles.
Learn how to solve equations and inequalities using various methods, including substitution and graphing
Syllabus
Standards
Aligned with Common Core State Standards (CCSS)5 Lessons
over 5 WeeksLesson 1:
Operations with Real Numbers
The initial class will lay the groundwork for algebraic understanding by introducing fundamental concepts such as variables, expressions, and the properties of real numbers. Students learn how to manipulate algebraic expressions, simplify expressions, and understand the rules governing algebraic operations. This foundational knowledge sets the stage for more advanced topics in algebra.

Lesson 2:
Solving Equations (1,2, and multi-step)
Building on the algebraic foundations established in previous classes, students delve into the art of solving equations. They learn various techniques to solve linear equations, including one-step, two-step, and multi-step equations. Through practice problems and real-world examples, students develop proficiency in identifying the correct method to apply and solving equations efficiently.

Lesson 3:
Solving Equations (variables on both sides)
Building on the algebraic foundations established in previous classes, students delve into the art of solving equations. They learn various techniques to solve linear equations, including one-step, two-step, and multi-step equations. Through practice problems and real-world examples, students develop proficiency in identifying the correct method to apply and solving equations efficiently.

Lesson 4:
Solving Inequities (1,2, and multi-step)
In these classes, students extend their problem-solving skills to inequalities. They learn methods for solving and graphing linear inequalities and compound inequalities. Through graphical representations and algebraic techniques, students explore the concept of solution sets and understand how to represent them on the number line.
