Students will learn the basic math concepts of Algebra 1.  By regularly participating in class and trying the home practice, they will acquire important learning and study skills. 
I'm a certified senior math teacher in the province of Ontario, Canada (University of Toronto, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education).  
Homework Offered
Home practice will be assigned after each class. Students are given the answers so they can check their work. At the beginning of the next class, we will take up some of the homework, at the request of students.

Students should have successfully completed grade 8 math or algebra 1. 
Students are encouraged to bring note paper or a notebook to class.  A three-ring binder is a good choice, as they would be able to print and keep copies of the whiteboard notes plus the home practice sheets. 
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
We will follow Fishtank Learning lessons to discover the Common Core Curriculum.  Students will be given home practice via Google Docs.  We may use Desmos, a math site that allows us to enter an equation and produce it's graph.  No sign up is necessary.
