Algebra 1 Readiness
In this 2-week accelerated course, students will review information that will prepare them for Algebra 1. The course includes five weekly lessons and Google Forms (or worksheets) to practice the concepts for each lesson.

Beginner Level
The class is structured with a lesson that includes examples and guided practice, independent practice, student questions and review. If time allows, we will play a review games as well! My teaching style can be described as demonstrative and visual. I will be using slides to demonstrate the material and provide a visual of each Algebra concept.
Learning Goals
Students will identify specific areas where they need further practice and develop a plan for continued study as they transition to Algebra 1.

My lesson is about identifying the parts of an algebraic expression (variables, coefficients, and constants) and translating them into verbal or algebraic expressions as well as simplifying by combining like terms. 40 mins online live lesson

Algebraic Expressions: Order of Operations & Evaluating Expressions
My lesson is about solving algebraic expressions using the order of operations as well as evaluating expressions for the given variable using the order of operations. 40 mins online live lesson

Fraction Operations
My lesson is about adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions. 40 mins online live lesson
Lesson 4:
Solving: Equations Part 1
My lesson is about solving one and two-step equations using only whole numbers. 40 mins online live lesson

Pre-Requisites
Students should be familiar with Pre-algebra topics prior to taking this course that will prepare them for Algebra 1.
