This course will focus on the concepts and skills learned in the third quarter of Algebra 1. Prerequisite for the course is the successful conclusion of the first semester of an Algebra 1 course. Before taking this class students should be able to confidently work with multi-step equations, systems of equations, and functions. These concepts covered in this course include: Week 1: Review of Algebra 1, Semester 1 Skills Weeks 2: Operations with Exponents Weeks 4-8: Polynomials & Factoring Week 9: Wrap-up & Review Material will be presented in a straightforward "I do, we do, you do" approach. Students will first watch an example before working through problems with the instructor before solving problems on their own. Students will be assessed with periodic quizzes and unit tests. A final grade will be assigned if requested by the parent/guardian. Required homework will be assigned after each class and will take approximately 30-45 minutes to complete daily (2-4 hours a week). Answer keys will be posted for the homework so students may assess their own progress. Questions on homework will be addressed in the first ten minutes of every class session.

Supply List
Curriculum will be provided from the instructor. A printer is required to print notes/assignments. A graphing calculator is highly reccommended. Pencil/scratch paper will be needed and a small whiteboard and dry erase markers may come in handy when working problems during class.
