This course will focus on the concepts and skills learned in the first semester of Algebra 1. Prerequisite for the course is the successful completion of a Pre-Algebra course. Before taking this class students should be able to confidently work with the four operations with positive & negative integers, simple equations, and simple functions. I have several years experience with teaching Algebra I; in public schools and in private tutoring at my home. I teach for mastery and a solid understanding of the core concepts and skills.
Required homework, approximately 20-25 mins/day or 1.5 hours per week. This will vary slightly by topic.
Curriculum will be provided from the instructor. A printer is required to print notes/assignments. A basic calculator is needed; TI 30 XIIS highly recommended.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Optional tests at the completion of each unit.
2 hours 20 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
