Algebra 1 (Part 3 of 4)-Word Problems, Systems of Equations, Exponents

Students will gain a solid understanding of the basic topics covered in the third quarter of Algebra 1.

I am an experienced and certified classroom instructor having taught classes from pre-algebra through calculus. I have also tutored students on an individual basis for many years. So, I know the common misconceptions students develop on math concepts and structure my lessons to help students avoid those mistakes.

Homework will be completed by each student individually. It will be a worksheet of problems similar to those covered in the lesson. The homework will take 30-60 minutes per lesson, so 1-2 hours per week total. Each student must post the work-out solution to one problem in the classroom for each homework set. The student may choose any problem not already posted by another student. The solutions to the previous lesson will be provided so that students can check their work. 

At the end of units 6 and 7, a quiz will be posted. At the conclusion of Unit 8, a test covering all of the course material will be provided. The quizzes and test must be submitted no later than a week after they were posted. 

If you need additional flexibility in the due dates, please let me know. However, all work must be submitted prior to the last day of class.

Feedback and full solutions to the assessments with be provided to each student, along with a percentage grade. Please show your work to receive partial credit, even if the answer is incorrect. Being able to see your thinking process also helps me give you better feedback.
