In this ongoing class, we will meet three times per week to cover the first major topics of Algebra 1. Students can also use this course as a review of certain topics they feel they need more help with and join at any time. Because of this, please be sure to check the schedule to make sure learners have the pre-requisite skills for the given week. Students will correctly add, subtract, multiply and divide integers. Students will be able to properly apply commutative and associative properties. Students will identify perfect squares. Students will identify rational and irrational numbers. Students will be able to identify the key features of an expression. Students will use the distributive property to simplify expressions and combine like terms. Students will be able to create their own verbal phrases. Students will be able to use opposite operations to solve equations. Students will differentiate between no solution and infinitely many solutions in an equation. Students will create equations and inequalities and from a given real world application. Students will solve literal equations. Students will be able to graph solutions of inequalities.
