Class Experience
In this class, students will be taught Algebra 1. In this first quarter of the school year, we will cover the following topics: Systems of Equations, Exponents, Exponential Functions, Polynomials, Factoring, and Quadratic Equations. The class will be structured so that each topic is a unit of learning. The class will begin with a opening activity, review of homework questions, then a lecture or skill building activity, and finally a lesson closer. I will teach using a combination of guided...
Students may be assigned practice problems, worksheets, reflections, or activity links on websites like Quizlet and Quizizz to build math fluency.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Students will not be graded unless the parent explicitly asks for it. Students will be given projects, quizzes, and tests but only as a measure of progress and to gain feedback on their work.
5 hours per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
