This is a fast paced 7-week FLEX course for students who feel might need additional practice in Algebra 1 or those students wanting a head start into the Algebra 1 course. See "Parental Guidance" for additional information.
Class experience
US Grade 8 - 11
This class will focus on reviewing the most often missed topics in Algebra 1. Not taken the class and want to get a head start? OR taken the class but feel you need additional practice? Either way, this is the class for you. We will take a step-by-step approach to each topic. Let's start at the beginning:
Week 1: Solving Linear Equations

~ Solving Two-Step Equations
~ Solving Multiple-Step Equations
~ Solve Equations with Fractions

Review the most difficult topics of Algebra 1.
I am a certified teacher who was a High School teacher for 13 years, a college professor for 6 years, and am currently an online high school mathematics teacher teaching Algebra 2 Saxon, Algebra 2 AoPS and Precalculus AoPS. I have a Master’s in Mathematics Science and a second Master’s in Mathematics Education.
Homework Offered
Homework will not be assigned, but additional practice questions with answers will be provided for the student to continue to practice.2 - 4 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
While the weekly quiz is optional, it is highly encourage to complete and submit. This will allow the teacher to assess the student progress in the course.Grades Offered
There are no materials to purchase. All material will be available in the Outschool class, provided by teacher. We will be using FREE Open Educational Resources.
A few pieces of information: 1. There are no live classes, objectives and materials are posted every Monday 2. Materials build on previous lessons, so is important not to skip a lesson 3. While it is a FLEX course, students have optional assignments due every Sunday (Quiz and Discussion Question) 4. Students can always contact the teacher directly if there are any questions, I check my messages every evening 5. Individual feedback is also provided to submitted assignments 6.
