Following each lesson, students will complete an exit ticket that will be submitted on google classroom. Students will receive feedback on their work along with opportunities to try again until they reach mastery.Class Experience
US Grade 8 - 9
Each Lesson will consist of four parts; example, you do, practice and exit ticket. Students are free to ask questions and for teacher support on the ‘you do’ and ‘practice’ portions of the lesson. Students will complete the exit ticket independently and will receive feedback from the teacher upon turning in their work. Each project will vary depending on the topic, some projects may include real-world examples such as adding prices of items together, adding fractions in a recipe and more! Prerequisite skills for this course include: Adding and subtracting positive and negative numbers, multiplying and dividing negative numbers, scientific notation, identifying proportional relationships, finding unit rate, solving proportions, combining like terms

I have over a decade of experience working with youth through mentoring, working in special education, college-level tutoring, teaching English language learners, and teaching gifted and talented students!
I have spent four years working as a volunteer mentor with 6th through 10th-grade students. While studying at University, I tutored fellow college students in statistics and psychology courses. I also have experience working in special education as a special education technician assisting in reading and math instruction. Through my year-long pre-service teacher education program, I taught 5th and 7th-grade students in mathematics. As a classroom teacher, I teach 6th-grade general education mathematics, 6th-grade mathematics for English Language Learners and 7th-grade gifted and talented mathematics.
