In this 8-week class, I will walk students through the skills needed to understand and confidently answer problems in Algebra 1. I will demonstrate the steps needed to solve the problem and have the students watch. Then the students will work through several problems with me and be encouraged to talk me through solving the problems. After this, students will be able to do our last few problems of the class on their own using the steps we've practiced. 

As students get stuck or held up on a problem, we will use it as a time to encourage them and help them figure out the next step to solve. 

Worksheets will be provided for students to work on following classes. Students will submit work by a deadline and then receive a quiz/test to check understanding during the units. Work will be graded. 

Unit 9: Quadratic Functions and Equations 
- Week 1 (March 13) :  Quadratic Equations and Functions, Characteristics of Quadratic Functions
- Week 2 (March 20) : Graphing Quadratic Functions, Solving Quadratic Equations by Graphing  
- Week 3 (March 27) : Solving Quadratic Equations by Factoring, Using Square Roots
- Week 4 (April 10) : Completing the Square, Quadratic Formula 

Unit 10: 
- Week 5 (April 17) : Radical Expressions, Adding and Subtracting Radical Expressions
- Week 6 (April 24) : Multiplying and Dividing Rational Expressions, Dividing Polynomials
- Week 7 (May 1) : Solving Rational Equations, Applying Rational Equations
- Week 8 (May 8) : Review
