In this 45 minute class, we will learn about Alexander Hamilton. We will read the book Alexander Hamilton: A Plan for America. The book is labeled for students age 4 to 8. Since this is a young learners class, we will be focusing on general facts about Alexander Hamilton. Some general points are as follows: born in the Caribbean, fought in the Revolutionary War, and served as first Secretary of the Treasury. The book also provides a general reason for the duel with Aaron Burr. There are no prerequisites for the class. The class is meant to be fun as well as educational. I will also ask questions and provide some visuals such as a map of the Caribbean and Colonies. I hope you will join me for storytelling on Alexander Hamilton.
Learning Goals
Since this is a class for age 4 to 8 years old, topics will be general. We will learn that Alexander Hamilton was born in the Caribbean. He fought in the Revolutionary War. Hamilton was the first Secretary of the Treasury under George Washington. We will also mention the reasons for the duel between Alexander Hamilton and Aaron Burr.

Parental Guidance
I will mention that slavery was used on plantations in the Caribbean Island and in the Colonies. A young Hamilton witnessed the horrors of slavery while on the Caribbean Island. Alexander Hamilton opposed slavery.
