Afterschool - The Art of Photography - Get Noticed on Social Media!

In this eight week photography class your child will learn all about the art and skills of photography from composition to color to light. It will be fun and interesting for all and encourage safety online.

Class Experience

Students will learn: 
The aesthetics of photography.
How to stay safe online.
How to use color and light.
How to approach subjects.
Abstract special effects and filters.
How to get noticed on social media. ( safely )
Why we do photography.
Mr. Simmons has been a professional photographer and video producer and is currently using photography online to build a social media following. He has won international film and photography awards and taught at Harvard, Boston University, Bucknell Universtiy and at many local high school and elementary schools. 
Each class we will have optional assignments. For example: Take 5 photographs that show texture and color.
Take 5 photographs of subjects you love. Then at the next class students can choose to share their photographs. 
 1 file available upon enrollment
The student will need access to a camera or phone where he/she/they can take pictures.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This is a highly creative class. Every student will learn about their special and unique gifts and talents. 
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will be careful to discuss the appropriate use of photography and how to keep the student safe online.
