Afterschool - The Art of Film and Video ( and Make a Film Too )

Here are the primary goals for the class:
Help students discover their own skills and talents.
Learn the fundamentals of film and video arts. 
Help students discover their unique voice as an artist. 
Help students learn how to be safe on the internet. 
Have fun being a creative person. 
Each student will learn what makes a film/video great and will learn how to use those
skills in their own projects. 
Each student will plan and make their own short film project. ( If they want to.) 

I went to film school and got a degree in Film and TV. I then went on to win international awards and loved what I was doing.  Every step of the way I was an innovator. I love film and video and think these media have an opportunity to transform lives and create a better world. I look forward to working with your child! The reason I want to do that is because the film-makers and artists will create a better world, they are the voice and eyes of the people. The journalists, media artists and the dreamers who will help create peace, justice and love in the world. My goal is to help students discover their own talents and abilities while have fun and learning all about film and video.

Students will be asked each week to do a creative assignment based on the topics discussed. This will not be time consuming assignments, but rather fun explorations of the ideas to be discussed at the next class. 

We will not have grades but just feedback. I will let you know what skills you are expressing and how you might move forward to expand on those skills. Everyone in the class will be honored for who they are.

45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
