Class Experience

Join Ms. B for afternoon tea! In this class we will learn to make three treats for afternoon tea. Don’t worry, these are all no bake treats so we won’t have to use the oven. PLEASE SEE SUPPLY LIST! But we will need a microwave. We will make cake pops, sandwiches, and strawberry boats. We will also Learn about afternoon tea etiquette and proper table manners. You can dress up if you like and even wear your favorite hat. There might even be a special appearance by Miss Emily, the afternoon Tea dog. I look forward to taking afternoon tea with you.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Students will be handling a knife and hot liquids. Young children may need assistance with these. We must have a minimum of 3 students enrolled to host the class. If less than 3 are enrolled within approximately 24 hours before class start time, the class will be canceled.
Supply List
You will need the following things for our afternoon tea:
sliced bread
butter
cucumber
large strawberries
whipped cream
mini chocolate chips (Semi sweet, milk, or white — whatever your child likes)— we will be melting these, the higher chocolate content the thicker the melted chocolate so you might need a table spoon of cooking oil.
Sprinkles
A pre-made cake (any flavor but make sure it is not a cheese cake or other dense cake) cut into 1” cubes — day le cake is best as it dries out and mixes with the frosting better. Very moist cake might take a dash of dry flour.
pre-made frosting (only about 1/4 cup)
teabags
 hot water
sugar
milk
two medium bowls
 microwave
spatula
 two metal spoons
wax paper
paper towels
tea cup/saucer
plate
Sharp knife
Fork
Dull knife

Optional items:
- a teapot

If you do not like cucumbers on your sandwiches, you may replace the butter and cucumber for peanut butter and jelly or any other items you like in your sandwich.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Greetings!
My name is Ms. Brown. I teach etiquette, writing, editing, soft skills, reading, adulting, business, and leadership.
Like you, I love learning new things and value education for all ages. I believe learning happens everywhere and not just in a school room or university. If you open your eyes, ears, mind and heart, you can learn everywhere!
I have an associates degree in journalism and writing; a bachelor's degree in business management; and a masters degree in international relations and diplomacy. I also have certificates in digital media marketing as well as etiquette, manners, and international protocol.
I am the mom of a college age son who sometimes gets tired of his mom always correcting his grammar and table manners. And I have a very well behaved chocolate lab dog named Emily (after one of my favorite authors, Emily Bronte).
