Informal assessment. There is no right or wrong way to do yoga, but I will actively communicate with parents regarding their learner's progress.Class Experience
During After School Yoga Break, learners will find their yoga bodies by sitting comfortably and tall and participate in centering breathing exercises. Next, they will start to warm up by saying hello to the sun in sun salutations and other active warm ups. After they have warmed up, students will go on a Yoga Adventure and learn different yoga poses following the theme of the class. After learning the different yoga poses, students will participate in a fun game. At the end of class, they will cool down with shhhvasana (relaxing pose) and practice becoming still and very quiet like a mouse. We will finish class with saying Namaste, or how we say good bye and wish everyone well in yoga. I will be participating with the learners and keeping them engaged by asking questions and encouraging them to get involved in the yoga class! There is no experience required for learners to participate :-)
Learning Goals
Students will learn to connect to their body and use their creativity to express different yoga poses
Students will experience feeling calm by tuning into their breath
Students will practice their focus when balancing or playing mindful games

Parental Guidance
Parents, kindly be advised that yoga is a physical activity and there are potential hazards (including, but not limited to, needing an open work space and preferably a water bottle). Although yoga is very safe, injuries can occur if not properly supervised. Please be sure that your child is prepared to follow instructions and has an open, hazard free space to practice yoga from. Thank you so much! Teacher Kimberly
Supply List
