Description

Class Experience

Participants will have an absolute hoot during this improv program taught by a well-established Canadian improv teacher and coach. 
No experience required! The intention of this program is to connect like-minded learners in an after school club format. Learners will gain valuable experience alongside a well-established teacher while engaging with peers - all while having fun!
Class will be structured as follows:
- introductions & sharing of the day's activities
- physical and vocal warm-up

Students will learn:
- the rules of improvisation
- how to connect with scene partners
- how to work with a premise
- how to fully immerse themselves in a character
- how to take creative risks
- how to tackle intention 
- how to say YES and not push away the ideas of others.

Travelling Stage teachers are industry professionals with professional performing arts experience on stages across North America. Our artist educators are certified teachers with extensive experience teaching in schools and studios. Our improv teachers also have extensive improv and comedy experience. The Travelling Stage is well established in over 5000 schools and child care centres across Canada.

45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

We recommend setting up your laptop or tablet in a distraction-free area with enough space to move around for scene and character work.
