Class Experience

1. Students will learn facts about the physical characteristics of African lions such as size, features, diet and habitat. 
2. Students will learn how scientists use these characteristics to compare and classify a species such as the African lion. 
3. Students will learn why conservation of lions in Africa is important and what is being done to prevent the extinction of this species. 
4. Students will also learn new vocabulary words related to the study of African lions.
No homework, but your child may be interested in learning additional facts about African Lions and animal conservation while also making additional drawings related to the topic.

Learner Supply List: 1. Drawing Paper (notebook, sketchpad or loose paper is fine) 2. Art media such as Crayons, Pencils or Markers 3. Print Pack: (attached to the welcome message in the classroom and visible if you are logged in as the LEARNER) Contains two drawing templates to assist learners. Note: A certificate and an African lion fact sheet will be sent as a separate download available after class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There is NO formal assessment for this class. Students will be learning concepts of animal science along with the opportunity to further develop their math, geography, vocabulary and creative thinking skills while learning about African Lions.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
