Students will hear the story of Carter G. Woodson, also known as the Father of Black History and how was determined to collect and share the stories of great Black Americans. Students will do their own research & presentation on day 2.
Class experience
This is a 2 day class. On day one, students will be introduced and listen to the story of Carter G Woodson , from childhood through adulthood. Students will learn about his hardships, his self-determination and love for his people. Carter G. Woodson is fondly called the Father of Black History because of his commitment to collecting and sharing the stories of African and African-Americans. At the end of the class, students will be given a list of African/ African-Americans to choose from....
Students will learn about the historical figure Carter G. Woodson Students will learn about how Black History Month came to be Students will practice simple research and create a presentation of their choice Students will practice public speaking
I am a licensed K-12 educator with years experience teaching social studies. I teach a lot of classes about African and African-American history currently on Outschool as well as in-person homeschool cooperatives. I also serve as Director of Radical Inclusion for a large national non-profit.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
