US Grade 1 - 4
Students will learn about the life of the courageous Sojourner Truth. They will learn about her struggles, her contributions and her accomplishments. They will be able to understand her life as a slave and what she did to get her freedom. They will also understand what she did as a women's rights activist. I will teach them what she did to help other people. We will discuss why she is an important historical figure. Each student will be able to interact and share their thoughts and feelings. They will understand why/how she was a great brave, and outspoken black woman in America . Since this topic is related to African American history we will have discussions about racism and slavery. Students will understand how this applied to Sojourner's life and how it applies today. They will be able to kindly express their thoughts and opinions on this subject.

Parental Guidance
Student's will learn abut slavery, racism, inequality and how it pertained to Sojourner Truth's life.
