In this African American History class we will learn about how Rosa Parks refusal to give up her seat sparked a movement. in addition we will be participating in a craft inspired by Parks bravery.

Description
Class Experience
I am a ESL teacher and tutor and I have mentored over 200 teens over the past 6 years through my nonprofit on diversity and current events and continue to lead open group discussions regarding diversity and inclusion for individuals ages 5-18. I have many years of experience facilitating difficult conversations regarding civil rights and African American History. I am committed to creating a safe non bias space for children to express their thoughts and ideas. I also have my Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and my Masters of Business Administration.
-Construction paper (yellow white and red) -Scissors -Print out which will be mailed 48 hours before class (optional) -Coloring materials
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Please note students will learn about social injustice, racism, diversity, discrimination and how it affected Parks's journey.
