In this class, we will examine nonfiction texts to investigate the wide and exciting contributions that African American men and women made to aviation. Moreover, we will apply literary skills such as fluency, summary, inferences, and connection to modern aviation. Additionally, students will practice creating tone, engaging audience, and public speaking. Weekly Reading - Researching and Project
Posterboard or paper with markers (or crayons)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
In this class, we will be using one text: Black Eagles: African American In Aviation. This book is an awesome resource to add to your children’s library, but it is not required
