Description
Class Experience
Each week, learners will study a different endangered or threatened species and discuss ways to advocate for the animals and bring awareness to their survival status. Learners will introduce themselves and have an opportunity to share information on the species of the week. After introductions, in a brief lecture-style format, learners will receive information about the species, any current news about the species, and learn about laws in place regarding the animals. There will be a question...
Students will learn about the history of the week’s species as well as it traits and importance in its ecosystem. Students will also learn advocacy tools such as how to write a letter to the editor, form letters, and press releases.
I am a lawyer and have engaged in advocacy for animals through my work as a volunteer and on the board for not for profit organizations. Prior to becoming a lawyer, I served as a middle school teacher.
