Description
Class Experience
Learners will learn the skills of Improvisation through fun improv theatre games on VR. Improv is a great skill for public speaking, listening, working with other's and building new ideas and thinking creatively.
All MGTeams instructors are experience improvisers. Our instructors have taken classes from college courses, people from MadTV, Second City Instructors and have performed all over the united states including comedy clubs, professional improv theatres and festivals like Bumbershoot and Seattle Festival of Improv.
This class utilizes Rec Room, a virtual reality game, and therefore requires compatible hardware. According to their website, Rec Room is supported on the following platforms: Meta Quest (Quest 1, Quest 2, Quest Pro) PlayStation (PS4, PS4 Pro, PS5, PSVR) Xbox (Xbox One, Xbox One S/X, Xbox Series S/X) PC Standalone Launcher Steam (SteamVR Included) iOS Android Pico (Pico Neo 3, Pico 4)
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Learners gamer tag will be needed to join the class and should be sent through learner or parent messages and never in the classroom. This class utilizes the virtual reality game "Rec Room", which requires an account to play. Learners will be invited to a secure and private room that allows them to only interact with learners from outschool. After class, we ask that all learners log off of Rec Room and only play with parents permission. Players 12 years and under will automatically have Junior Accounts, which will limit their access.
Learners will need to download Rec Room and play through the tutorial prior to class. The tutorial is very short and goes through what Rec Room is and how to use it.
