Class Experience

 In this ongoing class, learners will be taught a new letter blend that will help beginning readers to learn CVC words within word families. Learners will be taught how to put specific sounds together to read the words from the word family of the week. Learners will then listen to a short story and identify the target sound with the help of picture clues. We will play a game each week to help identify the blend of the week. We will review the 5 vowels through song in every class. We will also...

We will work on blending individual letter sounds into short CVC words, review the five vowels and the different sounds they make. Learners will also practice reading and writing our short CVC words from our word family of the week.

I have worked with preschool and kindergarten learners for 13 years. I love coming alongside and helping young students build a solid foundation while having fun at the same time.

An activity sheet will be uploaded to the class page each week this is not mandatory. Learners may practice writing on a sheet of paper or whiteboard if the activity sheet cannot be printed. Learners will need a dark-colored crayon or marker. For learners that have not mastered writing skills, thicker markers can be easier to use than a thin pencil or pen.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
