OVERVIEW: (This is a continuation of Beginners Spanish Semester Course). This is part 2 of our course that starts with the basics of building a strong Spanish foundation. It is designed to be an ongoing course, and the speed of the content taught will be determined by how fast the learners in the class are learning. This beginners to intermediate Spanish course will focus on how to: - Conjugate Verbs - Construct a Sentence - Common Phrases - Cultural Differences - Subjunctive, Indicative, Imperative (Emotional conjugation) - Speaking Practice
I have over 15 years of international teaching (and professional tutoring) Spanish; I was raised by my Hispanic-only speaking foster father. I took 6 years of academic Spanish in school. I have a Master's Degree in Social and Cultural Theory. I work to your students learning style. This will be a fun but also valuable lesson.
Weekly homework to listen to and/or watch Spanish related content. Reading: (depending upon the level of knowledge) -- Minimum: 1 page a week. Watching movies in Spanish: 1 every other week.
Download the phone App: Duolingo - Use the lessons daily. A movie list in Spanish to watch. A booklist to read.Ideas to create a closed language ecosystem to give the feeling of immersion. Since this is a classroom setting - students will be assessed when they enter. The curriculum used will be adjusted to account for the knowledge of the learner.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Through class-based conversation, assessments and practice. There will be written reports if agreed upon by the parents or teachers. Informal assessments will be ongoing and parents and teachers will be updated weekly.
1 hour 50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This is for all ages. The appropriate language will be used.
