Students will learn about the core concepts of algebra by watching the teacher provide examples, and then by completing problems themselves. Students will have plenty of time to ask questions after each concept has been explained. This class is perfect for students who want to get a head start on learning the basics of algebra, and also a wonderful refresher for those who have already begun studying these topics.
Students will improve their understanding of the key components of algebra. They will learn about variables, coefficients, combining like terms, solving, factoring, linear equations, and much more.
I have been tutoring algebra since 2004. I have learned, over the years, how to effectively teach this subject, while making the classes fun. I encourage questions, and I focus on building confidence in my students.
Students will be asked to review the items studied each week, and complete a few practice problems. We will review the homework at the beginning of the next class.
Each student should have a pen/pencil and paper prepared prior to the start of each class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
