There is no required homework for this group but depending on the topic we cover during a particular week, I may provide a tool, strategy, or activity for students to try at home if they would like to. These are completely optional.Class Experience
This fun and interactive weekly peer group led by a certified ADHD coach will give teens with ADHD the opportunity to connect with other students and learn new tools, strategies, and techniques for successfully managing common ADHD-related challenges. This group is ideal for students who are interested in ADHD/executive function skills coaching but are unable to commit to one-on-one sessions. Possible topics will include ADHD-specific neurobiology (what makes the ADHD brain tick), school-related challenges, difficulty concentrating, starting and finishing tasks, time-management, organization, self-regulation, social skills, and more! As an ADHD coach, my passion is working with students of all ages to develop a greater sense of self-acceptance, confidence, and autonomy. I approach every student interaction with openess, curiosity, patience, humor, and acceptance. My goal is to partner with my students to help them develop the tools and self-advocacy skills they need to feel successful and confident. Please note, coaching is NOT mental health therapy. This group is strictly intended to teach skills and strategies and does not support or provide a therapeutic outcome. As such, it should not be regarded as a substitute for mental health and/or other therapeutic services.
