Classes will always have the theme introduced in the beginning, learners will participate in a short demo and then they will have a good portion of the class to create. Each week the students will get a supply list that they will need to bring to class. It is important that the students come with the supplies they need for each project so class may operate in a timely manner. Course supplies are listed in the supply list below. This class is age appropriate for 7-8 year olds, but it would be helpful to have experience with the painting, drawing, cutting and pasting.
Learning Goals
- to learn about history, art, and culture
- to refine cutting and glueing skills
- how to infuse instruction with creative, innovative solutions
- to refine drawing and painting techniques
- to create realized 2D and 3D works enriched by knowledge gained from coursework.

This class can be messy. Please be advised that your learner needs a studio friendly space to work in studio friendly clothing. We will use white glue and scissors, markers, model magic clay and paint. Please be sure you are giving your child children's scissors to work with so they do not harm themselves accidentally. Safety first in the classroom : ) We also will be discussing cultures from around the world and history. I do my best to be as inclusive as possible. I insist on mutual respect to all members who participate in (student to teacher and student to student) the class.
