This class is taught in English.
Students will learn advanced writing skills that enhance the established writing abilities they already possess, and teach them new skills. This class will also help students learn to thrive in a discovery-based environment while learning core writing curriculum.
I have over 10 years experience working in the education/childcare field. I am a certified teacher, holding an EC-8th grade certification. My bachelors degree is in Interdisciplinary Studies.
Students will be expected to complete independent assignments outside of class most weeks.
Students will be assessed initially before/upon enrollment by submitting some piece of writing work. Throughout the course, students will receive rubrics for independent practice assessments and then be given their overall score. Students will receive an end of semester report card.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Students should be prepared to be challenged throughout the course. Students will have FULL support of me, the teacher, but they should be willing to go outside of their comfort zone.
