This course will explore topics in veterinary science related to the veterinary laboratory and small animal surgery. This is a FLEX COURSE WHICH MEANS THERE ARE NO LIVE MEETINGS. I have been a certified veterinary technician for more than 30 years and have been teaching at a local community colleges in a veterinary Assistant Program for 10 years, a private university in an Equine Studies program for 3 years and previously taught at a variety of Veterinary Science programs for grades 3-5, 6-8, and high school. I am also a homeschool mom! At home, my family has 3 mini horses, a Paint horse, 5 Nigerian dwarf goats, 9 chickens and 3 cats! I am passionate about sharing my experience and love for animals and veterinary medicine with all learners from diverse backgrounds from all around the world! If your learner has a dream to be a veterinary professional, then I am excited to help them on this first step!
Optional hands on activities or assignments weekly and an optional final quiz will be provided. There are no grades in this class.
See course weekly description. Most items will be easily found around the house. A printer may be needed, however assignments are optional.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
