Description

Class Experience

This class is taught in English.
Students will learn to properly communicate in Spanish while at the barn. Learners will be encouraged to speak in full sentences as much as possible by combining the vocabulary terms and grammatical concepts focused on in each class session.
I am a certified Spanish teacher with over sixteen years experience teaching middle school and high school Spanish. I have also been an equestrian for many years and own my own small farm with three horses. I am an adjunct professor for Post University's Equine Studies program. I am a dressage rider and adult amateur competitor with the United States Dressage Federation and often have to communicate at the barn with Spanish speakers.
No required homework will be assigned for this class although students are encouraged to practice using their vocabulary as much as possible between lessons.
PDFs of the optional homework assignments will be available to print out following each lesson. They will be uploaded into the Outschool classroom. Parents can easily print them out for their learner prior to or following each class. Vocabulary lists and grammar reference sheets will also be posted in the classroom prior to the start of each class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
55 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
My classes include interactive activities for students to complete as we proceed through each lesson. I utilize Nearpod, Pear Deck, EdPuzzle. Kahoot and Jamboard activities to further students' comprehension and communication skills. To participate in these interactive activities, students will only need to click on session links that I post for them in the Zoom chat during our live meetings. No personal information will ever be required of students in order to participate in these activities and they will not have to create accounts within any of these external resources in order to participate during class.
