Students will work on intermediate to advanced piano technique and repertoire.
Class experience
Students will come prepared with a piece or pieces of music ready to play for the instructor. At that time the instructor will offer feedback on performance and ideas on how to improve the performance. Scales and finger exercises will also be discussed, and music theory related to the student's piece(s). Students will learn proper ways to practice their piece(s). The goal is for the student to feel more comfortable performing and have a better understanding on how to practice.
I studied at the NC School of the Arts and have coached with world famous pianists and teachers. I have taught piano lessons for since high school. Many of my students have won state level competitions and I had one student place in an international competition which allowed him to play in Carnegie Hall. Most of my students who start in elementary school stay in my studio through high school and beyond.
