Class Experience

I hold a BA in Studio Art/Photography and Psychology, and am a photographer and Montessori assistant teacher. As an educator I have experience teaching mindfulness and photography to children pre-K through teenage years.

A computer and SLR camera is required. It can be film (with capacity to scan or take photos of the final images) or digital (with capacity to transfer image to the computer). Many introductory cameras are available for relatively low cost used or new. Recommended: - Nikon D3400 - Nikon D3300 - Nikon D5300 - Canon EOS Rebel T6 / Canon EOS 1300D - Canon EOS Rebel T5 - Nikon D40
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
Some photographers and/or photo theorists who we learn about may have photography work or analysis that involves nudity and themes of sexuality, much like you might encounter in an exhibit at an art museum or in fashion photography. We will not explore these in class, but there is the possibility that students come upon them during further research.
