What's included
1 live meeting
55 mins in-class hours per weekClass Experience
Welcome! Have you been interested in taking photos for a while and want to take your skills to a higher level? Have you definitely (or maybe) set your sights on doing photography for more than just a hobby? This club is where avid photographers will be able to share their work with peers, discuss photography & editing, and get their images reviewed by a professional. Join us photo nerds to chat about our photos and gear. Our conversations can range from lighthearted or serious depending on the subject, yet we always have a good time and approach everything with humor and sometimes YOU can dictate what our discourse will be about. Class Breakdown: After we introduce ourselves and say our hellos, I will give my talk about the subject of the week. That will lead into our discussion of the topic and how it relates to our photography, followed by a show & tell of our recent photos. And, as the meeting wraps up, I may give you an assignment for the following week or choose a student to give a suggestion. We have lots of fun in this group, so come on in if you're interested in sharing your work, improving your photography, or even just hanging out with like-minded photo people.
Learning Goals
Members will foster their love of photography and participate in discussions about: lighting, editing, camera technology, shooting models & animals, photographic history, printing, and everything else possibly related to photography.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi! My name is Gordon and I've been a working photographer and educator for over 10 years. I grew up in Morristown, New Jersey and after getting my degree in Digital Video & Cinema at James Madison University, I started working and traveling. I've lived all across the US and the world while working for myself and businesses like NBC Universal, David Blaine, Zou Shiming, and Justice. I am currently living in Melbourne, Victoria after coming to Australia to work as a photographer & educator with Camel Treks Australia in the remote outback of South Australia.
As for my photo classes, I teach Beginner Photography, Advanced Photography, and Photojournalism. I actively engage with the students to teach them the basic features of their cameras as well as the fundamentals of photo creation. Through various assignments, students will learn to create artistic and journalistic images in addition to learning the editing process.
Through years of both practice and trial/error, I got myself to where I am today. At times, I wish that I had an engaging and fun advisor that could take photographic learning beyond what the scores of youtube videos had to offer, someone that could personalize learning and answer my specific questions. I hope to be that mentor to you/your kids!
*I'm also passionate about movies, music (new & old), history, technology, and nature among many other things. Keep an eye on my page as classes on these topics will come up from time to time!*
