This twice a week course is designed for students who already have an intermediate understanding of music theory and want to deepen their knowledge of music theory and harmony.
Class experience
This Advanced Music Theory and Harmony course is designed for the student who has already mastered the skills presented in Beginning Music Theory and Intermediate Music Theory. We will explore intervals, chords, triads and modes to develop a firm understanding of music theory in a variety of styles. We will discuss vocabulary in regards to tonal harmony and discuss questions such as: How do diminished 7th/neapolitan 6th/augmented 6th chords function? What are chromatic chords and how to use...
