Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to land a triple pirouette and at least a 45 degree switch/scissor leap by the end of the course while having the conditioning drills needed to continue to perfect and work on their illusion turns, fouette turns, and ring leaps.
I have over 10 years of experience in jazz and ballet dancing and over 3 years of experience teaching. I owned my own dance studio in Grand Prairie, TX (Dance With Jenny!) for 2 years.
Students are asked to stretch every day in between classes, as well as practice basic drills every day such as releve holds, passe releve holds, and split jumps and kicks.
*Jazz dance shoes are strongly recommended *A hard surface to dance on *At least 75 sq ft of open space to dance on *Exercise/workout clothes *Water
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Assessment is ongoing- during class I will ask student to demonstrate the skills and offer feedback on how to improve.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
It is highly recommended that parents supervise their children as they take this class and ensure that they adhere to the correct flooring requirement, spacing requirement, and clothing requirement. Dance is a physical art form and injuries can occur if children are not focused and not dancing in the right setting or clothing. It is imperative that students wear either jazz dance shoes or dance barefoot- NO socks allowed, as slipping is very easy when trying to dance in socks.
