Description
Class Experience
In this course, students will continue to learn to develop basic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Italian, working on lessons adapted to the needs of the student, capabilities, and goals learning new vocabulary and expressions to talk about every day and familiar topics. Topics include food, travel, music, daily activities, but can also be developed on the need of the student- for I believe one size doesn't fit all. Lessons are customized based on your strengths and weaknesses. Students will practice conversation in Italian and pronunciation, grammar, as well as Italian culture. The class's structure is based around the learning goals of the students thus it is flexible according to each individual's needs. I will expose the students to the language in each class, encouraging students with games, music, and instructional videos. I am a patient, enthusiastic, positive, challenging, and motivating teacher. I always have a lesson plan, but can be flexible as mentioned if required. Students will continue to learn to understand and communicate in Italian in a range of everyday situations, Continue to develop basic skills in speaking, listening, reading, and writing in Italian, learn vocabulary and expressions to talk about every day and familiar topics, become more aware of the culture and diversity of Italy and its regions, and develop study skills to become a successful language learner.
I don't assign homework, but I encourage doing something throughout the week, such as picking out an everyday object and then learning its name in Italian, or choosing a favorite subject we can translate while practicing vocabulary during the lesson
I encourage students to stay organized with the use of notebooks and a folder to keep worksheets organized. I do informal assessments as we go, to evaluate learning progress
40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
