Class Experience

-Students will gain a deeper understanding of shading and it’s proper application
-Students will gain an understanding of advanced shading techniques
-Students will gain a fundamental understanding of the elements and principles of art and how to apply them to their own artwork
-Students will gain an understanding of how to both take and give constructive criticism
-Students will gain an understanding of color and how to add it to their drawings
-Students will gain an understanding of proportion and how to properly apply it to their artwork
Students will be expected to complete assignments outside of class time. They will also be expected to come to class with sketches completed as well as participate in critiques in the classroom. This should take roughly 2-4 hours a week depending on the student.
-9x12 Sketchbook or larger -Set of Drawing Pencils containing at least 2B, 4B and 6B (H pencils will not be used) -Set of Charcoal Pencils or Charcoal sticks -Kneaded Eraser -Plastic High Polymer Eraser -Ruler -One set of either colored pencils, chalk pastel or oil pastel
1 hour per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
