Cursive handwriting is an important skill for students to be aware of. In this class students will explore more complex aspects of cursive handwriting such as connecting letters to form words and writing full sentences. This class will be broken down into four meetings in which students will practice their cursive skills. The class breakdown is as follows: Day 1: Writing words (easy to moderate) Day 2: Writing words (moderate to advanced) Day 3: Writing sentences (easy to moderate) Day 4: Writing sentences (moderate to advanced) Worksheets will be provided each week to be printed out and worked on throughout the class. Extra worksheets will also be provided for extra practice outside of class. Class will always begin with a starter question to create a comfortable learning environment. I will demonstrate the words and sentences that we are covering that day. As I explain and demonstrate, the students will be using their worksheets to practice and follow along. I use a whiteboard so that students can see how my hand moves and how I form my letters and words with an actual writing utensil. Students should have prior knowledge of writing their letters in cursive before taking this class as we will not be going over letters specifically (I offer a "Cursive Handwriting for Beginners" class that I recommend taking as a prerequisite to this class). This class is geared more towards students using their skills with letters that they already have to form words and sentences.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi, I am so glad you're here! My name is Gia and it has always been a passion of mine to be a teacher. Educating future generations of students is a job that I believe is priceless and timeless. Seeing my students light up with joy when they are learning something or seeing them genuinely enjoy their schooling activities is the most amazing concepts to me. My teaching philosophy is driven by the idea of differentiation, which means that I am constantly altering my teaching style to fit every student's individual needs. Every child learns in a different way and I acknowledge that it is my job to teach them based on their needs in order for them to be successful in my (online) classroom. My goal is always to see all of my students thrive in this academic setting. I will work to make a difference in the way your child learns so that they can succeed in every way possible.
I have two years of experience of working with kids in an elementary school setting where I was able to gain experience working with and managing groups of children. I will bring my experience of creating engaging, fun, and academic activities and lessons is one of my favorite things to do in order to help my students learn and succeed.
Aside from my passion of teaching, I also have passions in writing, reading, and anything that uses creativity. I will be teaching classes in and around those areas. Some examples of classes I will be offering are creative writing, parts of speech, journal writing for stress relief, book clubs to work on reading comprehension and reading discussions, crafting, and handwriting. My goal is to make these classes fun for every learner so that learning is something they look forward to every class.
I am beyond excited to bring my passions into my Outschool classes. Thank you for visiting my page. I hope to see you in my class soon!
