Teacher expertise and credentials
Doctoral Degree in Education from Walden University
I am offering this class to provide an option for students in dual language programs/ or already bilingual students who wish to enhance their skills in Spanish. The journey to become biliterate goes beyond being able to speak a second language, but rather being able to comprehend, speak, read, and write in both languages equally. Being able to hold conversations on topics of interest is one way to increase their skills.
I have been a Homeschool mom for 17 years and now hold a Ph.D. in Education. Through the years I have been facilitating learning in classrooms, small groups, and individuals.
I have taught Spanish through games and interactions and find that my students use their Spanish vocabulary more often than grammar based teaching. The dynamics in my classes are developed in ways for students to feel comfortable and learn to take chances in using the language and develop their love of learning it.
