This is an advanced ballet class for ages 13-16. Your student should have prior ballet experience before enrolling in this class. We will build on your dancer's understanding of technique, musicality, anatomy and ballet terminology. This class will start at the barre (a counter top or chair is fine) and we will do some center work as space allows. There will be opportunity for dancers to ask questions throughout the classes. Students will gain more flexibility and strength as well as the ability to pick up choreography. Your student will gain a better understanding of ballet terminology and vocabulary. We will learn about the body's anatomy in action when we talk about certain topics like turn out.
I have been teaching and dancing professionally for over six years and have taught at many studios in the Denver metro area and Eugene, OR.
If your student has ballet clothes and shoes please wear them, otherwise workout clothes are fine. Long hair should be out of the face and secured in a bun. A counter top or chair should be accessible for use as a ballet barre.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 15 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
