In this four week course, we will continue to learn about American Sign Language. It is highly recommended that you complete the four parts of Beginners with Mrs. Emily and the four parts of Intermediate with Mrs. Emily, before taking ANY advanced classes. If you have prior ASL experience and would like to take this class, please send me a message. We will apply our knowledge of ASL grammar to every day ASL sentences in these advanced courses and we will also practice vocabulary we have learned previously. We will be focusing on directional verbs in this course. Our schedule is as follows: Week 1: Pronominalization Week 2: The four aspects of directional verbs Week 3: Dominant VS Nondominant Week 4: Movement from a Source to a Goal Each week we will review what we did the previous weeks and we will practice more of the skills we have been learning. By the end of this course, each student will be able to sign each type of verb and discuss the different types of directional verbs. Each week we will identify the parts of the sentences and talk about which rule applies to each sentence (or if there is more than one rule).
