Class Experience
Creative writing should be fun! In this 45 minute class, students will learn to be more descriptive in their writing by using adjectives and adverbs in more creative and advanced ways. I will teach this course using SOME lecture at first, providing examples of boring and interesting sentences, then getting student input to help me write more creatively before having them write sentences of their own to be praised, critiqued, and corrected. Students will improve their descriptive writing skills by learning to use adjectives and adverbs creatively.
I have taught descriptive, creative writing to students, ages 6-14, for 25 years now.
Homework will include writing a descriptive paragraph to read to parents this evening.
Supplies: white board or paper/notebook writing utensils of various colors (ex. black, red, green, orange, blue)
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
We will pull curriculum from our own minds, utilizing the creativity that exists in each of us.
