At the conclusion of the class, students are encouraged to complete a worksheet titled "My Plan." The instructions for this task are provided alongside the assignment.Class Experience
When we think of ADD or ADHD, sometimes our minds go to the negative. Let's think about those for a moment. Being indecisive, forgetful, impulsive, zoning out, interrupting. Now let's think about the positives. How about when we have a completely different way of thinking, routes that are unexpected, our need to be (as I call it with my students) Social justice police, or the fair patrol. When discussing the first portion, we are going to cover alternatives to what others see as disruptive behavior, but we are also going to dive into ways to strengthen the amazing gifts we already have. A little caveat, I do talk fast in the videos. I highly encourage you to allow your child to watch them more than once. I know it is hard for some to sit through even a few minutes and that is alright. Start and stop as many times as you need. The videos are shorter than a live class. Your child is welcome to pause, rewatch and take notes. Since this is not a live class with interaction, all of the information can be presented in a shorter time frame. Thus making it more informative and easier for students to sit through.

over 6 WeeksLesson 1:
The good and the frustrating part of ADHD/ADD
Everything from our BIG emotions to our need to interupt. Don't forget our thoughts jumping from one thing to three others at the same time.
Lesson 2:
FEAR!
What are somethings that may scare us? Not finishing on time, making mistakes, being called lazy?
13 mins of video lessons
Lesson 3:
I am SO Overwhelmed.
This is an easy emotion when you have ADHD. Am I doing enough? I am overwhelmed and just want to cry or even scream!
18 mins of video lessons
Lesson 4:
Trying to hide who you are and how you feel. How to self-regulate.
Maybe I can just bottle this feeling and pretend everything is different than it is. This can lead to a volcano of emotions and more negative feelings.
Finding ways to self regulate at home is completely different than in a social setting. What will work for you?
